Yesterday evening on Thursday 12 January, we held our launch event in Parliament for our new campaign #1000andbeyond. This campaign inspires and celebrates the achievement of young people who have participated in social action and volunteering.
Present on the day we had a variety of charities such as Operation Oprhan, Herts Young Homeless and Kissing It Better, as well as organisations such as Gardiner and Theobald and #iWill.
Our speakers included Diane Abbott MP, (Shadow Home Secretary) Cyrilyn Moore, Co-founder and Director (Operation Orphan); Jill Fraser, Founder (Kissing It Better);Cruz Glynka (EN Leadership Programme partipant) and Katherine Bryant, Founder (The Progress Partnership). We also had our trustees Susan Edwards and Graham Robb speak.
Following the speeches, we also had a panel discussion to discuss how we could get more people involved in social action and why it’s so important, before closing with NCS graduation celebrations and a few words from our CEO, Barbara Kasumu.
Social action really is at the core heart of what we do and in essence, where we started from as an organisation. If you share our vision for more young people to be involved with social action and volunteering, why not get in touch with us and collaborate to make this happen.
