On Tuesday 14 March, Business in the Community (BITC) launched the first Best 100 Employers for Race listing, as recommended by the government’s independent review by Baroness McGregor-Smith into race in the workplace.
The McGregor-Smith Review recommended that ‘Business in the Community should establish a list of the top 100 BME employers to identify the best employers in terms of diversity.’
BITC have integrated the Best 100 Employers for Race listing into the existing Business in the Community Race Equality Awards process – one combined entry form for both. It is free to enter and is open to public and private sector employers of all sizes until Friday 2 June 2017.
The review finds that employers getting race equality in the workplace right will provide a potential boost of £24bn to the UK economy. The listing will highlight UK employers who are committed to race equality and diversity and are taking a strategic approach to tackling racial inequalities in their organisations. If you are an employer, we encourage you to enter. The list will be published in October 2017.
