The Institute for Government is currently inviting applications for its Autumn 2011 internship programme (starting August or September).
What we offer
We provide the opportunity for excellent work experience in a young yet established institution at the heart of Westminster with close connections to government and all political parties.
Interns are treated as full members of the team. They have the opportunity to attend regular seminars, receptions and social activities.
We are able to pay a sum equivalent to the minimum wage. We also provide breakfast and lunch in our staff dining room.
What we are looking for
We are looking for confident and reliable graduates or students with:
* a good academic record
* knowledge of and interest in government and politics
* excellent communication
* organisational and research skills
* a desire to contribute to the work of the Institute for Government.
Candidates will be expected to work 4-5 days per week. Interns receive the minimum wage, paid holidays and have access to the events and facilities at the Institute.
Internships are for three months in the first instance, but may be extended by mutual agreement to a maximum of six months.
