Charity start-up internship

This start-up independent charity focuses on adults and children with low levels of numeracy. They aim to challenge prevailing attitudes, influence public policy and research, identify and promote effective approaches to improving numeracy.

This internship is based in Lewes, East Sussex.

Tasks will include:

  • Supporting the charity and its team to make their concept a reality
  • Learning how to develop the policy model, the creation of the online diagnostic tool and individual profile, the creation of the main website and learner pathways, piloting across employers, education providers and outreach settings and communications
  • Learning from the CEO, trustees, external organisations and staff by getting involved in all aspects of the charity

  • Excellent at building and sustaining professional relationships online, on the phone and in person

Requirements:

  • A qualified graduate
  • Excellent level of computer literacy, ideally including use of a website CRM (Content Management System) and a CRM database
  • Excellent written English with a good attention to detail
  • Excellent research and analytical skills – able to summarise large amounts of information succinctly

Programming Intern- Harrow

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics graduate for a 24-week Programming internship at a fast-growing Harrow-based development organisation specialising in parking solutions.

The company works to develop a new and intuitive parking solution that would disrupt the current Pay & Display and Pay on Foot offers to market.

They are looking for a Programming Intern to joing their team for 24 weeks to work on their flagship product; a highly-flexible, dynamic, and internet-based barrier less parking system that offers more. In return, you will receive the chance to build on the skills you’ve gained while at university, and be exposed to a diverse range of technologies ranging from expert systems to video processing and analytics.

The internship is likely to result in a permanent position upon its successful completion.

Requirements

  • Studied or currently studying Computer Science, Physics, or Maths degree
  • Knowledge of at least two of the following: Linux, MySQL, PHP, Python and ‘C’, HTML, CSS, jQuery and has  ome experience of Web based GUIs (desirable)
  • Problem solver and good team worker
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Flexible and has excellent verbal communication skills

Succeed: Project and Communication Assistant intern

This is a charity that works with academics and scientists to deliver evidence-based preventions and tools to support people with eating disorders, their carers and their families.

We are currently looking for an intern/volunteer to support our Head of Fundraising and Partnerships in developing and delivering Succeeds Fundraising Strategy. The duties will be varied and will include prospecting for funding opportunities and Individual Donors, developing pitches for corporate support and working with our marketing team to ensure our website reflects our fundraising and partnership needs. We will provide training for all aspects of the role.

Duration: Minimum of 3 months, starting as soon as possible.

Type: Part-time Internship programme

Working hours: 14 hours per week (2 days a week: 7 hours per day, 10am-5pm, which includes a 1hr lunch break).

Personal and professional qualities

  • Interest in working in funding and the voluntary sector.
  • An interest or experience of fundraising with an innovative approach to sourcing funding and funders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • High levels of research, evaluation and analytical skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a small team
  • Flexible approach with a Give-it-a-go attitude

Succeed: Website Design and development Intern

We are currently looking for a tech-savvy intern to work in our Marketing team. You will help to update and develop our website, helping to engage with a wider audience on the subject of eating disorders.

We are looking for an intern with a passion and enthusiasm for new technologies. The ideal candidate will be able to bring sound technical knowledge, new ideas and plenty of initiative to our Marketing team.

Duration: 3 months

Type:

Full-time Internship programme

-          35 hours per week (7 hours per day – 5 days a week, which includes a 1hr lunch break).

Part-time Internship programme

-          17 hours per week (2 – 2.5 days a week: 7 hours per day, which includes a 1hr lunch break).

 

Task include:

  • Implementing changes to the website, through the website’s CMS.
  • Design and implementation of new and creative elements for the website.
  • Continual work to improve the website’s search engine optimisation – creation of partnership links, driving traffic and monitoring usage of website
  • Assisting with general content writing for the website.
  • Collate statistics  and help develop  an industry leading ‘ED statistics section’
  • Assisting in the preparing and building of an online resources section for individuals with eating disorders and their carers.

Communications

  • Writing of high quality, original content for news and events section
  • Writing of monthly newsletter
  • Social media activity to help build our online community
  • Monitoring website enquiries.

Personal and professional qualities:

  • Good and relevant degree – in the past or in progress.
  • Good experience working in html and coding for a website
  • Web design skills preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a small team and flexible
  • Interest in Succeed’s aims & goals
